CEO, Global Communications

“I got to a point where I realized if I didn’t change, nothing would. I am the person I need to work on. This is what I can always influence the most. Now when problems arise, instead of saying ‘I can change it’ I’ve started saying ‘I can change’ and ‘it’ has made all the difference.”

Why did you join?

I was struggling with my work-life balance. There was a lot of work—there was not a lot of balance or life. And I need to say I love my job, so it’s probably always easy to work a lot more, but I also felt that I had very little time for myself. My wife also began complaining quite a lot that the work I put into this job was not normal.
She asked, “I can see that you love it and I love that you love it, but where is the space for us?”
About same time, I discovered that I had high blood pressure. I don’t think anyone in my family has that, but if I track my blood pressure, I can see that it’s related to my work. It’s very high during the week. It’s lower at the weekend.
I didn’t realize how unhealthy my current rhythm was—physically, emotionally, and mentally.
That was the final straw, I knew I needed to change something.

What’s been the most rewarding part of your membership?

The investment that I have made in myself.

The Rewired program is intense (no sense in beating around the bush here). But the framework is solid. For once I didn’t have to carry the lift of how to change—I simply had to set aside the time and put in the work.
So I set out to integrate it. My routine was making space in the morning to kick it off my day with a session or two, sometimes listening while I jogged or commuted. Then I would challenge myself to take time to reflect and fully embed it into the moments that followed.
I also couldn’t believe how much I was learning from women leaders all over the world. Here was this untapped resource of experience just waiting for me to grow by osmosis. It was fascinating to meet all of these amazing women and share struggles, successes, and solutions. The power of this group shows you what’s possible and encourages you to keep moving forward.

What is one of your most significant accomplishments to date?

I’ve learned to improve conversations with our teams and change the way we talk about—and listen for—what’s important.
I’ve shared what I’ve learned with my teams so we all have a better understanding of how the brain works and how to identify the limiting beliefs that slow us down and keep us from changing. Learning how to recognize this and think differently was the first step to make real change happen—not just for me, but for my entire organization.
Once we understand how the brain works and what it does, we realize that there are always, always, always options and solutions—the moment we start seeing it, our mind starts opening up and things begin to shift.

Learn how you can rewire your brain, advance your leadership skills, and give yourself the space to create an impactful legacy—starting today.
